On Saturday 24th January 1914 the Beresleigh Estate went on sale. This sale incuded the southern side of Hannah St, between Hull and York Sts.
The estate was named after the property “Bereleigh” which was included in the sale.
The results of the sale were recorded in the The Cumberland Argus and Fruitgrowers Advocate on Sat 31 Jan 1914, Page 8.
Prior to its sale “Beresleigh” was owned by the Gelling family.
