8 Kainga. This house was built in 1905 for Robert Brodrick, who was an architect. Instead of designing the house himself, however, Brodrick engaged Joseph Seale as the architect for his home. Originally the next door neighbour for this house was Joseph Seale. This was designed in the Arts & Crafts style. Alterations have been made to the front door, porch, shutters and windows. The sunroom is an addition. Two brush boxes in the front yard were probably planted just after the house was built [1].

12, Boonga. This home is now on a battle axe block but is the 1903 home of Joseph Seale. Joseph was the architect son of John Seale of Mindaribba, in Malton Road. This home was built for his bride and the name of the house mean ‘our home.’ It shows influences of John Horbury Hunt, with its steeply pitched roof and timber shingles on the gable ends. The leadlight glass in the front door was a wedding present. Originally on two acres, it has been subdivided into what are now seven houses and five swimming pools.

The house is listed on the Hornsby Shire Council Heritage Register which comprises Schedule 5 (Environmental Heritage) of the Hornsby Local Environment Plan 2013.
