Narena Close

The land now forming Narena Close was sold from Crown land in 1890 to James Buckingham. He sold it to Alfred Cox in 1892 and the Cox family held it until a 1903 sale to Joseph Horne – a real estate agent and founder of the firm Raine & Horne. He sold it in 1938 and after a number of owners was sold to the Arnold family in 1954. Each of these owners had been investors and there is no evidence that any of them built on the land.
In 1968 the land was acquired by Hicks & Walter Pty Limited. This company subdivided the land, created Narena Close and houses started to be built.
The origin of the name ‘Narena” is not currently known.

3 was bought in 1970 by Norbert and Elaine Wright. They built the current house and then lived in it. In 1981 the home was purchased by Harold Gordon Johnson and Frances Parry until sold to the current owners in 2023
