Welcome to the Beecroft Cheltenham History Group website.

Since it’s formation in 1987 by local history enthusiasts, the aim of the History Group has been to record the history of Beecroft/Cheltenham and to collect and preserve photos and other historical information relative to the area.

Since 2005, the History Group has been part of the Beecroft Cheltenham Civic Trust.

The Group has published several books: In1990 A Sure Foundation (A history of  St John's  Anglican Church) by T. McCaskill

                                                                                          In 1995 The history of Beecroft and Cheltenham up to 1914.

                                                                                          In 2004  Heritage Walks of Beecroft and Cheltenham.

                                                                                          In 2005  The story of the Beecroft Childrens Library. 

                                                                                          In 2019  World War 1 letters of James Blackwood

The History Group is very keen to hear from anyone who is interested in contributing stories, photos, historical items or knowledge about buildings or events relevant to our history in Beecroft or Cheltenham.
